As mentioned above, though on the surface iPower seems to offer less than other web hosts reviewed on this site, they do provide great value. If you really think about it,
5 GB of disk space is pretty hefty and should suit many site owners just fine. The same goes with the 250 GB of bandwidth - again, chances are you really won't need all of it if you have a small site. This makes the iPower Starter Plan a pretty sweet deal at $3.95/month. An additional $6.50 for a domain won't hurt the pocketbook much more either. The bottom line: you get what you pay for, and with iPower, you're paying for only what you really need.
Reliability
iPower boasts 4 Tier 1 data centers that run exclusively on AT&T's Global Crossing and Cable & Wireless' OC48 / OC192 Global IP backbones. Extensive public/private peering arrangements help magnify bandwidth capacity, internet reach, and performance optimization. They also use Dell PowerEdge and HP ProLiant servers, and Cisco & Foundry Firewalls and Routers. They also employ on-site security guards 24/7, closed circuit television cameras inside and outside the building for total data and hardware protection, and extremely tight security to ensure that only authorized personnel enter the building.
Intrusion detection and filtering, and network monitoring and routing are ensured by the use of Network Operations Centers (NOC) with content mirrored in other NOCs for total failsafe system redundancy and diversity. Expert analysts and technicians staff these NOCs 24/7. Redundant dual AC and DC power feeds equipped with multiple backup systems, including generators in case of power failure, along with an array of redundant, emergency environmental controls and protections to handle unexpected crises.
Control Panel
Whereas iPower once used the popular cPanel 5, they now use their own vDeck control panel, which gives both cPanel and Plesk a run for their money. vDeck has proven so successful and user friendly that other web hosts are now in fact using it too. The bonus: since iPower built vDeck, they are the first to make tweaks and changes to it.
